It's happening...no turning back now. Today, I gave my boss the go ahead to post my job.
Aside from the obvious sadness, I am feeling very bittersweet about it all. I am trying to get a good friend of mine hired to replace me. I know that she will be great and it is perfect timing for her as she is fed up with her current job. I know that she will be able to do my job without a problem and I am glad that I will be able to train her (or whomever).....if only I could do this for her without actually leaving myself.
I have to find a way to get off this emotional roller coaster. It is making me sick.
On the bright side, we are finally starting to get some answers on the rental property we will be moving into in VA. The husband of the agent who was helping me find some properties is a contractor and is building some modular homes in a neighboring town. We are going to rent one of those. I am not thrilled with the location because it is a little more rural than I wanted but because of that, the rent will be sooo much less than our mortgage. That will definitely help us get rid of the debt we have racked up with John being out of work and me being on maternity leave. I love the fact that it will be brand spanking new and it will have a full finished basement. This is so key because it is about half the size of our current home so the basement will be a perfect playroom spot for the kids. On top of that, we will not have to sell as much of our belongings as I thought we would because we can store it in the basement. Very happy about that.
I am WAY behind on getting our Madison house ready to put on the market. Part of the problem is that we are so friggin' busy with the kids and work but I suspect that a lot of my stalling is subconsciously hoping we will not have to do it after all.
I am so damn tired. I want to spend a couple of days on the beach with a few gallons of margaritas, a carton of cigarettes, a bag of nuggets, and no children....ah, maybe in about 15 years.
